Being Human

It hot, hard and heavy,
This feeling in me that has suddenly made me
The human I am skin clothed, skeleton framed
Soul fueled sometimes the human in me is crazy.
We are made to live, made to get, but also give
Made to lie, made to cry but also grieve
Made for hurt, express with art the love in us
But also cheat.
Abide in oath, in justice taught and do get caught.
But the human in us needs to live
Off the air we breathe and watch us grow
What we seed in time of want and days of need
We get mad; we get sad but get really glad
In a friend with feelings shared
In attraction we have no choice but stare
Hand cuffed in choice the human nature
Is equally dared.
In the conscious subdued,
That want is always flared.
And from then on trust is prey
That’s always snared
Jaws, Paws, claws are natures laws
Flaws, laws, pawns also a human nature
Suddenly stained that’s the truth you ought to think
Sustained, a wish I once felt could be
But being human has infinite possibilities
Though for relief we clutch our fist on faith
With hope being human for that moment
Leaves no eternal torment.
